Stress management coach helping women over 50 live with calm and intention

My Story: How I Became a Stress Management Coach

reinvention after 50 Feb 11, 2026

A journey from survival mode to intentional living—and why I now help women do the same

There was a time when I thought stress was simply part of being a capable woman.

You manage it.
You push through.
You make it look elegant.

From the outside, my life appeared full—work, creativity, responsibility, love. Inside, however, my nervous system was constantly bracing. I was doing all the “right” things, yet my body told a different story: exhaustion that sleep didn’t fix, mental fog that dulled my creativity, and a quiet ache that whispered, something needs to change.

That whisper is what eventually led me here—into the work I now do as a Stress Management Coach and Wellness & Lifestyle Coach for women navigating midlife, caregiving, reinvention, and emotional overload.

This is not a story about burning everything down and starting over.

It’s a story about learning how to feel safe in your life again—and then rebuilding from there.

The Moment I Realized Stress Wasn’t the Problem—It Was the Pattern

For years, I believed stress was situational. Once this phase passed… once that responsibility lightened… once I had more time, more energy, more space—I’d finally feel better.

But stress doesn’t work that way.

What I came to understand—through lived experience, study, and deep personal reflection—is that stress becomes chronic when the nervous system never feels regulated long enough to recover.
And for women—especially women over 50—this is far more common than we’ve been taught to recognize.

Hormonal shifts.
Caregiving roles.
Identity changes.
Invisible emotional labor.
The pressure to stay “grateful” and “strong.”

I wasn’t broken.
My body was responding appropriately to prolonged demand.

That realization changed everything.

From Coping to Understanding: The Education Behind the Work

As someone trained in holistic health, herbalism, and wellness coaching, I already understood the body intellectually. But stress isn’t just mental—it's physiological, emotional, and deeply personal.

So I stopped asking, “How do I manage stress better?”
And started asking, “What does my body need in order to feel safe again?”

That question opened the door to a completely different approach:

  • Nervous system regulation before behavior change

  • Gentle structure instead of discipline

  • Personalized wellness instead of generic advice

  • Emotional safety as the foundation for transformation

This is where my work diverged from the hustle-based wellness culture that tells women to fix themselves, optimize harder, or push through discomfort in the name of growth.

Stress management isn’t about doing more.
It’s about creating conditions where your body can finally exhale.

Why Midlife Stress Hits Differently—and Why Most Advice Fails Women Over 50

Midlife stress is not just “too much on your plate.”

It’s layered.

It’s cumulative.

It’s deeply tied to identity.

By the time a woman reaches her 50s, she has decades of lived experience stored in her body—both beautiful and burdensome. Add menopause, changing roles, caregiving responsibilities, or a desire to reinvent life, and suddenly the old strategies stop working.

This is why advice like:

  • “Just be more disciplined”

  • “Stick to a routine”

  • “Try harder to stay consistent”

often backfires.

Because a dysregulated nervous system interprets pressure as threat, not motivation.

And when the body feels unsafe, it resists change—no matter how much the mind wants it. It's important that you start learning to feel safe in your body again.

This understanding is the backbone of my coaching philosophy.

The Shift: Stress Management as a Lifestyle, Not a Fix

I didn’t become a Stress Management Coach because I mastered stress.

I became one because I learned how to work with my body instead of against it.

That shift led me to create rituals instead of rigid routines.
To honor seasons instead of forcing productivity.
To build a life that supported my nervous system—not one that constantly activated it.

And something remarkable happened.

My clarity returned.
My creativity softened and deepened.
My relationship with food, rest, and self-care became intuitive instead of performative.

This wasn’t about escaping responsibility—it was about becoming resourced enough to live well within it.

Why I Created Awaken The Woman Within

As women began asking me how I did this—how I stabilized without burning out, how I reinvented without chaos—I realized something important:

Most women don’t need another plan.
They need a safe, supportive container for transformation.

Awaken The Woman Within was created for the woman who knows she’s ready for more—but refuses to sacrifice her well-being to get there.

This is not a quick fix or a productivity program.

It is a guided recalibration of your inner world, so your outer life can finally align.

Inside Awaken, we focus on:

  • Regulating the nervous system before making life changes

  • Clarifying identity, desires, and direction in midlife

  • Creating sustainable wellness in midlife that feels elegant—not exhausting

  • Releasing survival patterns that no longer serve you

  • Building a lifestyle that supports calm, confidence, and presence

This work meets you where you are—without judgment, pressure, or urgency.

Because lasting change happens when you feel safe enough to receive it.

Who This Work Is For

Awaken The Woman Within is designed for women who:

  • Feel emotionally or mentally exhausted despite “doing everything right”

  • Are navigating caregiving, life transitions, or identity shifts

  • Want to feel grounded, calm, and confident again

  • Are tired of forcing motivation and craving ease

  • Desire a life that feels intentional, beautiful, and supportive

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t need to be fixed—I need to be supported,” this work was created for you.

Stress Management Isn’t the End Goal—It’s the Beginning

When stress is no longer running the show, something extraordinary becomes possible.

You hear yourself again.
You trust your instincts.
You make decisions from clarity instead of depletion.

That’s what this work is really about.

Not becoming someone new—but coming home to yourself.
