Are There Better Age Defying Foods to Fortify Your Body?

Guess what darling? Yes, eating ‘certain types’ of foods will definitely fortify your body to defy aging so that you have a more youthful appearance than you do now.

Who said anything about reversing the clock? You’ve accepted aging as life.

What you want is to look more radiant than you do now. Is this correct?

  1. Healthy Snacks To Eat On The Go

Snacks are not meant to be complicated but to assist in losing those last 10-20 lbs in a healthy way. Most popular “so-called’ protein bars are like eating a bag of candy so look for natural ingredients and total grams of sugar on the label.

My all-time favorite combo is the LARABAR with a banana (unless you have allergies to nuts).

This is always on my shopping list. I love the ‘chocolate cherry’ but you may have to test some of the different flavors to see what your taste buds enjoy. One of the main ingredients in the Larabar is dates.

Just 1 cup of dates contains 1,168 milligrams of potassium which is higher than a banana. Which is great if you are running a marathon, however, I don’t recommend eating more than 5 at a time.

2. Salmon, the Flavor Is In The Skin

In a study published in the European Journal, of Clinical Nutrition, people who ate fish for lunch consumed 300 calories less and reported feeling much more satisfied compared to when they ate beef.

This fish offers so many amazing benefits: from reducing pain in the back, neck or knees and it also helps to fortify a healthy, glowing skin and fight aging that reflects on face and skin.

I know, I know, strawberries with chocolate poured all over it is not the idea of what will give you a youthful appearance but it will definitely make a girl feel good!

The best season that I have found to eat strawberries is when they are at their peak, spring and summer.

Strawberries also are high in fiber and help balance blood sugar, and the polyphenols they contain support immunity and fortify healthy cell renewal.

4. Farrow not Sparrow

You may be wondering what is Farrow, well it is a whole grain that has its roots in the Mediterranian countries such as Italy, Ethiopian or Middle Eastern cuisines.

The benefits are enormous, from being high in fiber,  an excellent source of protein, fiber and nutrients like magnesium and iron, it’s a big step up from using white rice or other refined grains in your favorite dishes.

Which makes this the perfect food to fortify aging gracefully. However, if you are gluten intolerant this won’t work well for you.

It is an alternative to rice, couscous, quinoa or barley. And there are so many ways to cook it. 

5. For The Love of Red Wine

Red wine contains antioxidants called resveratrol and polyphenols that may believe to be healthy.

Resveratrol in red wine helps protect your blood vessels and may combat blood clots.

Polyphenols which is also an antioxidant,  have been known to reduce cholesterol, blood pressure, fight bacteria and improve immune health.

There are countless foods, supplements, and drinks that can slow down the aging process and give you a more youthful appearance. Discovering what works for your body is key.

Let’s face it, the more weight you have the older you will look. What if you reversed it, ate foods that would fortify your body so that you lost just 10-20 pounds?
