I have seen many beautiful professional women connecting and posting on social media platforms who never show any photos beyond their face. Are you one of them that is hiding behind your shadow? In all honestly; I can truly appreciate those times on social media when you just don’t feel great or want anyone to see the ‘real and full’ you.
Sometimes you can feel embarrassed or even ashamed of how the image you want to present—might be perceived. Many women that I’ve had an opportunity to connect with are at a point in their life where inwardly they don’t feel comfortable with how they look. On social media you can play with photos, images, and poses so that no one ever guesses because you know how to cover up any flaw and keep moving on.
But what technology allows you to cover up, also prevents you from FIXING THOSE ISSUES!
Want to look slimmer—I’ll wear black
Hair is dry, thinning, and unhealthy—I’ll get a wig
Don’t like my fat flabby legs—I’ll wear long skirts
I have bad looking feet—I’ll wear ‘closed toe’ shoes
I have fat, flabby arms—I’ll wear long sleeves even in summer
You get what I mean—right?
If you don’t want to hide anymore—then realize NOW, that most things you have control over especially when it comes to your weight and health.
Before my grandmaman passed away in 2014, she told me if she had a chance to “go back in time she would change some things in her life”. Old age is a natural transition that no one can stop, but it was some of those eating habits and health habits that ultimately caused her to decline which took her life much quicker than we wanted. What she ate and how she ate. Maybe she felt that due to a lack of knowledge; she physically didn’t honor her body as well as she could have because she didn’t know how. She followed some misleading advice and even tried going without certain foods that were actually important, never drank enough water or ate what would benefit her in the long haul.
